Harriet M. Lantz, 95

Harriet M. Lantz, 95, of Topton, died May 25, 2012 in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.

She was the widow of Carson O. Lantz, who died in 1979.

Born Oct. 14, 1916 in Reading, she was a daughter of the late David M. and Susan (Gilbert) Smith.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Topton, where she taught adult Sunday School, sang in the senior choir, and was active in Women of Evangelical Lutheran Church of America for many years.

RELATED ASSETS

Mrs. Lantz was an original resident of the Heilman House at the Lutheran Home when it opened in 1990. She then resided in the Buehrle Center for Assisted Living, also a part of the Lutheran Home. Prior to that, she resided in Mertztown, Topton, Dryville and Leesport.

Mrs. Lantz was a 1934 graduate of Kutztown High School.

She had been employed in the dietary department at the Topton Home for 15 years prior to her retirement in 1981. Prior to that, she worked in her family's grocery store in Topton.

Mrs. Lantz enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and playing card games, especially pinochle.

Survivors: Sons, David C., husband of Clara H. (Bach) Lantz, Hamilton, N.Y.; Keith G., husband of Laurel A. (Weidele) Lantz, Norristown, Montgomery County and Richard J., husband of Mary Kay (Faust) Lantz, Harleysville, Montgomery County.

There are also two grandsons, Stephen J. and Brian D. Lantz.

There are also more than 30 nieces and nephews; and many friends in the Lutheran Home community and surrounding Topton/Mertztown area.

Memorial services will be held June 2, at 11 a.m. in Trinity Lutheran Church, 121 S. Home Avenue, Topton with Reverend Scott A. Staub officiating. Inurnment in Topton Union Cemetery, Topton. Friends may call 10 to 11 a.m. in the church.
