CAERNARVON — A 47-year-old woman was found dead in her home by firefighters responding to an automatic fire alarm Friday afternoon.
According to Caernarvon Police Chief Paul R. Stoltz Jr., the woman was found in the master bedroom of the home in the 100 block of Quarry View Drive where the fire was believed to have started. The fire call came in around 4 p.m. and the Twin Valley Fire Department responded, finding the second-floor of the home filled with smoke, police said.
A report in the Reading Eagle (http://readingeagle.com/article.aspx?id=406044) identified the deceased woman as Michelle A. Taylor who reportedly lived in the home with her husband and son. Taylor reportedly fell asleep before the fire began, police said.
An autopsy on Taylor was planned for Sunday. An investigation by the state police and Caernarvon police is under way.

A woman was found dead in a multi-alarm house fire on Quarryview Drive in Caernarvon, Berks County late Friday afternoon. Police said firefighters responded to a fire alarm at the home and found the woman in the master bedroom. The firefighters bought the woman out, police said, but it was too late to save her. The fire, according to police, was put out in minutes.
