Auntie Anne’s understands the importance of good management. Earlier this year the company announced the winners of their “2012 Managers Incentive Program”, aimed to award the best of the best managers within the Auntie Anne’s franchise. The contest awarded 20 managers and 5 general managers each an exclusive getaway for two in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.
Out of 1,200 stores nationwide, one of the 20 winning managers was store manager Wendy Gerber of the Auntie Anne’s in Elverson.
This award was particularly meaningful to Wendy, as she used it as a celebration for her 25th wedding anniversary. She and her husband were delighted to take the beautiful trip for two, but Wendy never stops being appreciative of her dedicated staff.
“I wish I could bring (my team) with me,” she said.
Having been a manager for six and a half months prior to receiving her award, Wendy understands what it takes to run a store efficiently. One of the most important factors in keeping a store successful: Everyone enjoying themselves.
“I feel that it is not just my responsibility to help increase sales, but to keep a happy store with happy employees,” she explained.
Wendy won this award after being approved by a qualified panel of judges on five criteria, including increases in transaction counts and high mystery shop scores. She says that the key to her store’s success was quality cooperation with her employees. She makes sure never to ask any of her employees to do anything that she is not willing to do herself and for her employees to always put their best effort into the job because you will see the rewarding results soon after.
