New Holland, Pa. - Drive-in movies are back in New Holland by popular demand. This summer, Garden Spot Village once again invites the public to three screenings of family-friendly movies on its campus at 433 S. Kinzer Ave.
“Like last summer, we’ll be showing wholesome, high-quality movies that appeal to all generations,” said Colleen Musselman, director of life enrichment at Garden Spot Village. “We encourage our neighbors from throughout the surrounding community to enjoy an evening of entertainment under the stars.”
In conjunction with the USA Theatre Company, Garden Spot Village will show The Adventures of Tintin on June 22, Hugo on July 27 and Dolphin Tale on Aug. 24.
“All of the movies we are showing this summer are Dove ‘Family-Approved’ selections, so the whole family can enjoy them,” Musselman said. The Dove Foundation reviews movies based on traditional Judeo-Christian values and posts them online at www.dove.org.
Movies run on a 40-foot-high screen sponsored by Turkey Hill. Moviegoers are welcome to stay in their cars and tune in to the soundtrack via their car radio or bring blankets and lawn chairs and listen to the outdoor sound system. Garden Spot Village offers more than 2 acres of lawn seating, but parking is limited to 80 cars.
Concession stands offer popcorn, candy, beverages and more for purchase. Concessions open at 7 p.m., and the movie begins at disk. There is no charge for admission. Donations will be accepted at the gate.
