Twin Valley Football is hosting the first annual Battle in the Valley, a free inter-league day-long event on Saturday, August 25, at Twin Valley Middle School. Each attending youth football organization will play a series of rotating scrimmages versus matched Mighty Mites, Mites, and Midgets squads. In what equates to a pre-season finale, the players will get to test their developing skills in a friendly and competitive environment. Squads from six teams will visit host Twin Valley - four from the local BYAFL (Berks Area Youth Football League) - Berks Catholic, Blue Mountain, Hamburg and Oley Valley, and two from the neighboring PAC-10 - Perkiomen Valley and Spring Ford.

The junior varsity teams are scheduled to start at 9 a.m. and will finish at 1 p.m. The varsity teams will start at 1 p.m. and finish at 5 p.m. The event will take place rain or shine, unless there is potentially dangerous weather.

The concept for the ‘Battle in the Valley’ was suggested to Twin Valley Football President and Coach Vince Mitsky, who was inspired to set things in motion.
