NEW HOLLAND, Pa. — Volunteers from Weaverland and Groffdale Conference Mennonite churches recently returned from Cordova, Alabama, where they are building a house for a family left homeless by last year’s tornadoes. The first team consisted of Tim High, Daryl Horst, Ammon Weaver, Corey Fox, Fred Weaver, Nevin Sensenig and Brian Martin. The next step in the ongoing project is constructing wall panels, which will take place at Garden Spot Village on Saturday, Sept. 22, beginning at 8 a.m. To volunteer for a construction team, contact Tim High at (717) 738-4736. To volunteer for “Build Day” at Garden Spot Village, contact Charlie Till at (717) 355-6337 or ectill@gardenspotvillage.net.
