Concert Series Features Flutist

Honey Brook Twp, PA—The Tel Hai Concert Series is underway! In October the featured performers will be Edward Schultz on flute accompanied by Jeffrey Uhlig on piano. The concert of classical music scheduled for Saturday, October 20 at 7:30pm will be held in the Tel Hai campus Chapel, located off Beaver Dam Road, east of Route 10.
Mr. Schultz has been an active performer as a soloist and an ensemble member in chamber music concerts and orchestral performances in the Philadelphia area since 1977. He joined the Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia as principal flutist in 2002 and was featured in 2008 as soloist in the orchestra’s performance of Nielsen’s Flute Concerto. He is also principal flutist for the PA Ballet Orchestra, the Philly Pops and the Academy of Vocal Arts Opera Orchestra.
This western Pennsylvania native began his early studies with a local artist in Uniontown and spent six years with the principal flutist of the Pittsburgh Symphony, Bernard Goldberg. Mr. Schultz graduated from the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston and won a fellowship at the Berkshire Music Center at Tanglewood thereafter. He was also engaged as a featured soloist with the Boston Pops while under the direction of Arthur Fiedler.
