Flying Colors art show taking place Oct. 20 and 21

Flying Colors, a Glemoore-based group of professioanl women artists, is pleased to announce its 16th annual Art Show and Sale at the Montgomery School, Saturday and Sunday, October 20 and 21, 10am to 5pm. Open to the public, this event is free of charge on Saturday and Sunday. Montgomery School is located at 1141 on Route 113, between Route 401 and Yellow Springs Rd, in Chester Springs, PA.

Artwork from local artist Joan Spillman will be available October 19 and 20 at the Flying Colors Art Show and Sale at the Montgomery School in Chester Springs.

The public is also invited to the Opening Night Artists Reception, held from 6 to 9pm on Friday, October 19. The admission fee of $10 per person for Friday evening’s reception is donated to the Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition. Over the past thirteen years, Flying Colors has contributed over $19,000 to the PBCC for research to combat breast cancer. Guests will meet the artists, enjoy refreshments, live music and be the first to view the artists’ newest work. For reservations, please call Maureen Mesher at 610-827-1061.

Flying Colors create artworks in oil, watercolor, acrylic, pastel and pencil. Painting together each week in Glenmoore, PA, members offer mutual support, share inspiration, and enjoy workshops, from September through May. Flying Color’s work culminates in their annual October show and sale, a much-anticipated local event.

Juried membership is open to qualified local women artists, as space allows. Current artists are: Ruth Biles, Patty Cunningham, April D’Angelo, Cheryl Decker-Sauder, Kristi Gilfillan, Liz Greisser, Mary Holton, Linda Killingsworth, Pam McKee, Mary Alice McQuinn, Maureen Mesher, Dorothy Alexander Muccilli, Lisa Prinzo, Nicola Soricelli, Joan Spillman, Kelley Stanford, Edith Stevenson and Lin Webber. RELATED ASSETS

The Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition raises funds for research to find a cure for breast cancer. They also support and encourage victims of the disease and their families. In addition to the proceeds from Friday evening’s reception, Flying Colors artists also donate the full sales proceeds of select paintings to the PBCC. Look for the pink ribbon on pieces throughout the show.
