Ludwigs Corner Fire Company helps kids from East Nantmeal

Members of Ludwigs Corner Fire Company have been working diligently on their project to educate children about fire prevention, said East Nantmeal Township Board of Supervisors Chairman Jim Jenkins. During October members of the fire department have been presenting programs at West Vincent Elementary School, French Creek Elementary School and St. Elizabeth’s School per a memo from Marty Blumenthal, safety officer and outreach coordinator at the Ludwigs Corner Fire Company. They have worked with over 700 children and their teachers on learning how to prevent fires.
The fire company also has associated programs available at the Hankin Library and the Vineyard Community Church where children and their parents can learn about fire prevention.
Members of the Fire Company have had an open house where residents can see the fire trucks and equipment. Volunteer firemen spent are least 170 man hours on these activities. They have had a positive response from the community.
