Lancaster Brass Quintet to Perform “Sounds Of Christmas”

NEW HOLLAND, Pa. — Nov. 20, 2011 — Lancaster Brass Quintet will perform “Sounds of Christmas” as part of the Garden Spot Village Saturday Evening Concert Series on Saturday, Dec. 15

The Lancaster Brass Quintet debuted in 1982. In addition to its holiday program, the group’s repertoire includes brass standards; Renaissance, baroque and classical music; marches; jazz; Broadway show tunes; and patriotic and sacred music.

Current members are Scott Ainscough and Melanie Miller on trumpet; Anne Nye, horn; Tracy S. Burke, trombone; and Gerald D. Heilner, II, bass trombone.

Other concerts in the series at Garden Spot Village include Larry McKenna’s “New Voices Cabaret” on Jan. 19; Charlotte Daw Paulsen with “Opera for Every Ear” on Feb. 16; and a Celtic celebration with the Bryn Mawr Mainliners Barbershop Harmony on Mar. 16. Eric Kearns will wrap up the season with “Voices of Legends” on Apr. 20.

All concerts begin at 7 p.m. in the chapel at Garden Spot Village, 433 S. Kinzer Ave. The concerts are free and open to the public. Donations will be accepted at the door.
