The New Year arrives early in Boyertown

New York City only has its ball – but Boyertown has its BEAR. At the annual New Year Bear Drop (“Nei Yohr Bar Rutsch”), the Boyertown Area Historical Society welcomes in the new year with a party and celebration. Beginning at 4:00 PM in the Boyertown Area Historical Society Museum, 43 South Chestnut Street, The public is invited. Boyertown PA, the celebration will include light refreshments and numerous activities Honoring Boyertown’s Pennsylvania German heritage, the party will end with the dropping of the BEAR at 6:00 PM on New Years Eve; that coincides with 12:00 midnight in Germany. . Assuming he has recovered from his strenuous Christmas holiday activities, it is hoped that the Society’s own Belsnickel will be able to make a personal appearance. The Society is a nonprofit organization and a five dollar donation per person would be appreciated.
