Ruth Mary Lantz, 81, of Ontelaunee Township, died on January 26, 2013 at The Reading Hospital and Medical Center. She was the wife of James M. Lantz, whom she married January 19, 1949.
Born in Reading on September 21, 1931, she was a daughter of the late William Enoch and Agnes Rebecca (Graeff) Angstadt.
Ruth was a 1949 graduate of Muhlenberg High School. She was employed with Schuylkill Valley School District for 11 years as a cafeteria worker. She also worked as a greeter at the Wal-Mart at Morgantown Crossing Shopping Center.
Also surviving are two children, William J. lantz, husband of Cheryl A (Kerber) Lantz of Laureldale and Belinda R. Yucis, wife of James J. Yucis of Kinzers, Lancaster County. She is also survived by three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services were private at the convenience of the family. Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., Laureldale is in charge of arrangements.Ruth was very active with the American Cancer Society. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 498 Bellevue Ave, Reading, PA 19605.
