Dear Editor;
The Brandywine community listened and responded to the recent plea for support. The Brandywine Community Library staff and its’ board members appreciate and send our gratitude towards all who stepped up and accomplished what needed to be done to compensate for the decrease in state funding and the continual increase in operational cost for library services within their community.

Thank you to Longswamp Township for increasing their per capita contribution and to the borough of increasing their per capita amount. The per capita increase from two of the municipalities within our community helps tremendously in our efforts to balance the library budget.

The Brandywine Library is also thankful for the generosity of all who continue to support our fundraisers. These efforts continue to be successful with not only increasing the library’s funding but in fostering a valuable sense of community through enjoyable social events.

Your overwhelming support of the 2012 Narrow the Gap and the 2013 Annual Appeal letter campaigns ensures the future of the Brandywine community having a library.

RELATED ASSETS

Because the Brandywine Community Library’s budget is balanced, the community can continue to seek out the Brandywine Community Library for several reasons, not only for assistance with informational needs, or for a relevant collections, or cultural enrichment, but for a welcoming, and vital place that fosters the true meaning of community. This community library will continue to serve as a fundamental reason for living in this particular community. The library can continue its role as a liaison between community and government and maintain its partnership of choice for community service agencies.

Thank you, once again, to everyone living in Topton and surrounding townships, for stepping up to the plate and hitting a home run for your community library.

Marie Ballantyne,
Brandywine Community Library Board Member
