The weekend of March 8proved to be an exciting one for the West Mont United ’01-’02 Boys U11 A Team as they won the Addidas Coppa Division in the Annandale Premier Cup in Virginia.
This tournament is ranked #1 in the country and is by invitation only.
Led by Head Coach Steve Sawyer and Asst. Coach Greg Duke, the team came ready to play. Their first win Saturday was 2-1 against the Baltimore Bays, followed by a 10-0 vs. VA-Great Falls.
Winning Sunday 6-1, solidified their spot in the championship game. Anticipation mounted as West Mont took the field, but there was no stopping these determined boys as they took the win vs. VA-Mount Vernon 6-1. The boys played a total of 4 games with an impressive 25 total goals scored and only 3 total goals against! West Mont is proud of United ‘01-’02 and hope to return for a repeat performance in 2014!
